40% Think Ireland will reach the Semi-Final in Euro 2012

1st June 2012

The countdown begins for Euro 2012 as Trapp’s army prepare for their first game against Croatia. Almost 40,000 Irish are expected to travel to Poland to support our boys in green. For those of us left, we will cheer on our lads here at home—Euro Party Time!

Irish companies are planning their own Euro party theme nights as an opportunity for team bonding & for increasing staff morale. Then of course 11850, are expecting the inevitable increase in call volumes for people looking for taxis, pubs, takeaways, pharmacies, djs, caters, inflatable footballs tables and of course the number for your local doctor for that sick note on Monday morning!

11850 undertook a poll to find out how high the Irish expectations were for our boys in green. Overall there was a hugely positive response with 40% thinking the lads will make it to the Semi’s. 27% think Trapp’s army will make it all the way and 21% think we will finish top of our group, no doubt about it! Then there is the 12% who are typically pessimistic in thinking we’ll get knocked out in the first round. The negatives can take a hike—if we win the country will probably shut down considering most people have booked holidays or are taking some time off during the Euro and if the weather stays fine there will be street parties popping up everywhere!

So c’mon as the song states “get behind the team”, sing your heart out and support our boys in green.
